PTO Committees
We are always looking for committee members! Please feel free to contact the PTO if you are interested in joining a committee at any time. We will route your email to the committee chair.
Book fair
This is the big fundraiser for the school. This committee is responsible for organizing the Scholastic Book Fair which is scheduled for November 15-17, 2012. The members must be available for meetings prior to the fair and be present during the fair to ensure its success. Specific jobs within this committee include promotions, merchandising, cashier, planning pajama night and family day, and organizing the classroom wish lists.
Community Service
Members of this committee will plan at least one community service event that the students will participate in this fall or early winter.
Cultural / Holiday / Special Projects
Once a month members of this committee will organize and present storytelling, art/crafts, presentations, etc. to the children to inform them of special upcoming celebrations and traditions - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter Fun, Valentine's Day, Diwali, Chinese New Year, Spring Fun, Mother's Day are examples of holidays or events represented. This committee is a great way to volunteer in your child's classroom.
Healthy Snack
Parents sign up to bring a healthy snack of the day for the entire school. Parents will bring in snacks on their assigned Friday. Typical snacks include, carrot sticks, apple slices, raisins, bagels, cheese sticks.
Fall Social
This committee will plan an evening out for parent socializing. Date to be determined by the committee.
Family Art Day
This committee will organize a craft day for Montessori children and their families in the early part of 2013.
Family Picnic
Members of this committee will organize a Spring get-together with fun activities for Montessori children and their families. This is usually scheduled close to the end of the school year.
Teacher Appreciation Day
This committee will organize a special day for our Montessori teachers (taking place in May 2013).
Yearbook
Members of this committee will be on hand at special events such as the holiday show, field trips, class parties and other appointed days for taking photos to be used in a yearbook that they create.
