November Recap
November had a very rough start with Hurricane Sandy. Thank you for your patience during the week that we were closed due to lack of power. We hope that everyone is recovering from this terrible storm. We also had to adjust our Halloween celebration plans this year as a result of the storm and are thankful for your understanding.
As always, parent observations and conferences went smoothly. They were very informative and a lot of fun. We also enjoyed our time this month with Mr. Chris as we learned about Country Music. On Wednesdays when Mr. Chris is not here, Miss Chris from the Jefferson Township Library comes to read to the Kindergarteners.
Thank you to all our parents who volunteered to help during the Thanksgiving Feast which was a huge success. The children enjoyed the delicious goodies.

Special December Birthdays
In the month of December we will be noting two special individual's birthdays. December 1st is Jan Brett's birthday. We are reading this author's books. If parents have one of her books to share, we can include this on our reading caterpillar. December 5th is Walt Disney's birthday. We will do special Disney stories and snack in recognition of Walt's birthday. Also this week (12/7) you can either do the letter Cc or anything Disney for show and tell.
Outdoor Playtime
Please dress your child appropriately for outdoor play. If the temperature is over 35, not very windy and no precipitation - we will go outside for recess.
Service Projects
A huge thank you to all the families who donated to the food pantry. The people from United Methodist Church who came to collect the food were overwhelmed by our school's generosity. The food was placed in baskets and given to 45 families in town. We are just finishing the toy drive for Tilley's Kids. Again, we are so pleased at all the toys that our families are sending in. You are making a difference to those children less fortunate.
Holiday Celebration
Santa will be arriving at our school at 9am sharp to visit with the children on Friday December 21st. All children are invited to join us for our morning session. We are looking for some Merry Volunteers to help spread holiday cheer. Please let your child's teacher know if you are going to volunteer. Also donation sheet sign ups are on all three classroom doors.
Reminders
* All children under the age of 5 years are required to have their flu shot. Please send in proof of the immunization before our holiday break.
* Please make sure all coat bags have a complete change of clothes in them. We are running out of our extra clothes, which we wouldn't need if each child's coat bag had a change of clothing.
