Hope that everyone had a fun and wonderful summer. Summer camp was very exciting for the children who attended. Some of the highlights were learning about American animals, bees, superheroes, musical instruments, Disney and Nick Jr. The children enjoyed playing outside especially with the water tables and running through the sprinklers.
9/17 Jamming for Juniors - Mr. Chris (an amazing music teacher) comes into the school every other Wednesday
and teaches the children a music themed lesson (ie rock and roll, percussion, country etc). If your child does
not normally attend on Wednesday mornings you are welcome to come in and stay with them for this half hour class.
Please let your child's teacher know.
9/17 Spirit Day - "crazy hair day"
9/26 Johnny Appleseed's birthday - Please send in an apple starting 9/17. We will make applesauce in class
the week of 9/22
Back to School Night
Save the Date: Wednesday October 8th. This will be an opportunity for parents to learn more about what goes on in their child's classroom all day.
Save the date: Monday 10/13. Please mark your calendars that we will be offering an opportunity for Grandparents to come in and visit their grandchildren in class and have a special snack with them. Sign up sheets will be available in late September on your child's classroom door.
Kidsstuff fundraiser books have been distributed to all families. Please return your money, orders or books (if not interested) by 9/22. Thank you to all that participate.
We are starting something new at Alpine this year - spirit day. Much like the high schools which have spirit week we are doing one "themed" day per month for the kids to have fun with. These "themed" days will give the kids a chance to get silly and have some fun. We will start in September with "crazy hair day". If your child does not attend on the assigned day please see your teacher for an alternate day.
* Show and Tell - 9/12 the color yellow, 9/19 the color green, 9/26 the color red
* As a reminder for children doing before care, again we are trying to have breakfast completed by 8:00. This will allow for classrooms to be ready to begin promptly at 8:30 with our day's work.
