November News – Oak Ridge
October was a very busy month!! We started with a visit from the Jefferson Fire Department where they talked to us about fire safety and gave us an opportunity to sit on a fire truck. Thank you to all of the grandparents that came in and spent some time in the classrooms with their grandchildren. Remember to go onto our facebook page to see pictures from all of these events!
As always, we enjoyed Mr. Chris as he taught us about Rock and Roll music and Halloween music. The Kindergarten class took their very first field trip to Farmstead Estates. We all had fun learning about the animals. Thank you to all the parents for helping!
We had our first annual Pumpkin Patch at Alpine. The kids had a great time selecting, cleaning and then painting their own pumpkins! Our Boo or Treat went great! The children loved singing for parents and getting to trick or treat on the playground. We loved all the costumes and thank you to all of the parents who helped out or contributed to such a fun day.
Thank you to Sergeant Ed O'Rourke from Hardyston Township who came to Alpine to talk about Halloween Safety. He allowed the kids to sit in the police car and sound the alarm.

Collection for New Hope Food Pantry
Again this year we will be collecting food for the New Hope Pantry. They make thanksgiving baskets for families in town. If you are able to send something in from the list below it would be greatly appreciated. We will have boxes in the upstairs hall for you to place the food in. They will collect all the food donated on Monday November 16 in the morning. Food needed: fruit cocktail, stuffing mix, boxed instant mashed potatoes, canned string beans, canned corn, coffee, tea and holiday napkins.
On Wednesday November 25th we will be holding our annual feast. All children are invited to attend for the morning session (which will end at 12:00 instead of 11:30). We will be serving turkey sandwiches. Sign up sheets for donations or volunteers to help out in the class will be posted on the classroom doors.
All children from 6mos-59mos must have a flu shot, unless med or religious exemption. Please make sure your child has had the immunization before January 1st and bring in the form from your doctor.
Also every child must have proof of a yearly physical by their doctor filling out a Universal Child Health Record. If you are scheduling a yearly physical and didn't receive the blank form from us - please ask Mrs. Dugan.
