Summer Recap
Hope that everyone had a great summer. Summer camp was a lot of fun for the children that attended. Highlights were building our own Thomas the Tank Engine, soaring into outerspace and having our very own summer Olympics. The opening of our sandbox was very exciting. All the children couldn't wait to get outside and into the sand.
We are very excited for our upcoming school year at Alpine. The 1st few weeks we will enjoy getting to know eachother and welcoming old friends back to school.
September Events
9/21 Annual Children's Breakfast - prepared for students by the teachers for National Breakfast month
9/26 Johnny Appleseed's Birthday - we will be having apple cupcakes to celebrate
Alpine T-shirts and car magnets
Each registered child is receiving an Alpine t-shirt this year. If you have not yet received one for your child please let your child's teacher know your size and color preference. Also we have new Alpine Montessori logo car magnets. If you would like one for your car please pick one up at no charge from your child's teacher.
Kidstuff Books
Our annual fall fundraiser this year will once again be the KidStuff coupon books. These are a great way to save money at many of our favorite stores, restaurants and attractions. The cost is $25 for each book. Books will be handed out the first week of school. If you would like to keep it please return a check for $25 - if you do not want it simply return the book to school. Additional books are available for you to keep or sell to family and friends. If you sell/buy 5 books you get a 6th book for free. Alpine will keep 50% of the profits from selling these great books. All profits from the fall fundraiser will go towards purchasing new Apple computers for the school.
Grandparent's Day
Please save the date of October 8th - we will be offering an opportunity for Grandparents to come in and observe the children in their classes, as well as, enjoy a special snack with their grandchild. Sign up sheets will be available in late September.
Stop and Shop A+ rewards
Thank you to all that participated last year by linking their stop and shop cards to Alpine. This no-cost fundraiser raised $292.02 for our school. It is time to sign up again for this school year (they require you to reregister your card each year). To register your card you can either email me at alpinemontessori@aol.com the 13 digit number off the back of your stop and shop rewards card along with the first three letters of your last name or register your card yourself using the following steps:
sign onto www.stopandshop.com/aplus.com
on the upper right side you will see a button to register your stop and shop card
on the next screen you type in the first 3 letters of your last name and the 13 digit number on the back of your stop and shop card - next you choose Sparta, NJ and select Alpine Montessori. Then whenever you shop Alpine will earn points towards purchasing new equipment for your children to enjoy.
Reminders:
- if your child has a food allergy, please inform your child's teacher
- all paperwork must be returned to Mrs. Gorman by Friday 9-14-12
- if your child is due for a physical please see Mrs. Gorman for a Universal Health Care form
- remember when dropping off or picking up your children, please hold their hand to and from the parking lot
- please do not allow your child to open the doors leading to the parking lot -- one of our ground rules for our classrooms is only adults may open doors!
- all children need a coat bag - if you have not purchased one yet please see your child's teacher
- parents please do not enter the classroom at drop off and pick up time - a teacher will be at the coat bag area to greet you
