November Recap
Observations and Conferences went great. Just a reminder, if you still need a conference with your child's teacher please feel free to call and make an appointment. We also started off the month with a great visit from the Seeing Eye Dog Organization of Morristown. The children enjoyed learning about the program, as well as, meeting the two dogs that they brought along.
We enjoyed three sessions of Jamming for Juniors this month where the children learned about Country Music, Mystery Music Bag and The Beatles. The kids seem to be having a great time during these classes.
Construction has been at a bit of a standstill, as we are dealing with getting permits and the planning board in town. We hope to begin next week with the "new deck area". Due to certain town restrictions (imperviable coverage can't be greater than 40% for your entire property - and we already are at the limit with the parking lot and building) so we had to revise plans and get a bit creative. Some trees will be coming down and the area that was previously the deck will now be a fenced in sodded area with a walkway). The area will be completed next week with the exception of the sod which will go down in the spring. This area will be a new type of play area for the kids where they will be able to utilize some different toys etc. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we go through this process.
Once we complete this process we will be installing the new keypad entry on the main door. More information will follow.
This month we will be celebrating Hanukkah and Christmas with special coloring and holiday crafts. We will also be learning about Kwanzza - Umjo everyone.
This holiday season we will be collecting toys and other items for the "Seasons of Hope" toy drive. If you would like to donate an unwrapped gift please sent it in by Wednesday December 14th. If you need any ideas please check out the list on teh bulletin board in the main entrance outside of the kitchen.
12/14 Jamming for Juniors with Mr. Chris - "Holiday Music"
12/23 Christmas Party - Santa will be visiting us in the morning. All children are invited to come and celebrate. Please check the sign-up sheet in your child's classroom. Parent volunteers are needed!
Reminder
Please call school or check the web site's home page for closings due to inclement weather. Please take your child's coat bag home during holiday break and replenish it with seasonal clothing.
School Closed
Alpine Montessori will be closed for Holiday Recess from December 26th -December 30th. Happy Holidays to you and your families in which ever holiday you may celebrate.
