January Recap
Everyone was back into the swing of things and we looked forward to the second half of the school year, until mid-January hit! Did we get socked with the stomach bug and flu! We have always been big on washing hands, but never more than the last few weeks. Our staff have been continually disinfecting everything to keep all the viruses out. A big THANK YOU to the parents for keeping children home, as well as, coming to pick them up when they had fallen ill here at school. Working together has seemed to slow this season of illness down!
We learned and celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his contribution to our country. Mrs. Lami has returned and we were all so happy to see her. Story time is always fun with Mrs. Lami, from the Sparta Library! We also enjoyed, as always, our music time with Mr. Chris. The children learned about the keyboard and all of the sounds it can make and about some old time rock and roll with Bill Haley and the Comets.
February Events
February is a very busy month here at Alpine Montessori.... Groundhog Day starts our month off. We will teach the kids about the groundhog by reading stories and doing art projects. Did he see his shadow? Will spring come soon?
We will also be recognizing Black History month in February with stories and colorings from many historical African American figures such as Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, President Obama, George Washington Carver and Jackie Robinson.
