June News - Sparta
This is our last official newletter of the school year. We would like to thank the parents and children for such a wonderful school year!!
May Recap
In May Mr. Chris came to teach our children about Colypso Music and showed us how to use a steel drum! It was very upbeat and enjoyable as usual.
On May 19th Sparta teachers participated in the annual Sparta Day for the first time. It was a great time getting word out about our school and seeing Alpine alumni, as well as, some current students.
All observations and conferences went well. If you have not yet had a conference and want one please see your child's teacher. We celebrated Memorial Day discussing how important it is to remember all the men and women who have kept us safe.
Field Day was a great success! We beat the bad weather and had lots of fun playing all the games. We even had ice pops before the rain started. WOW!! A big thank you to all the parents who helped out.

Facility Improvements
Within the next week or so our new 12x12 sandbox should be installed. That will be a whole new digging level of fun for the kids during outdoor time. New flooring will also be installed in the downstairs classrooms in the next couple of weeks. This summer we will continue to improve the appearance of Alpine with interior painting, a new sign and cleanup and new plantings outside. We are always looking for ways to improve both the appearance of our school, as well as, enhancements to our already outstanding program.
Stop and Shop A+ rewards
Thank you to all that participated this year by linking their stop and shop cards to Alpine. This no-cost fundraiser raised $292.02 for our school. This money will be put to good use with the many improvements in the school. Be on the lookout for notification to sign up for this again in the fall. Thank you.
Summer Camp
There is still space in our summer camp to continue the Montessori experience this summer. Enrollment can be done on a weekly basis - with very flexible schedules from 2 half days to 5 full days per week. There is also a discount for students that enroll for more than 4 weeks. Each week is a themed week planned wtih lots of crafts, cooking projects and outdoor activities cooresponding to each theme. Examples of these themes are Disney, Circus, Moon/Space/Stars, Sports/Olympics and Transportation. Please consider this as a fun option for your child this summer. See your teacher for additional information about summer camp.
